These Terms of Use govern your use of www.ideabox.com (the “Site”), operated by ideaBOX LLC (“ideaBOX”, “we”, “us”). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Informational purposes only
Content on the Site — including articles, case studies, benchmarks and statistics — is provided for general information. It is not legal, financial, insurance or professional cybersecurity advice for your specific situation, and using the Site does not create a client relationship with ideaBOX.
3. ROM Exposure Estimator
The ROM Exposure Estimator produces indicative estimates based on published industry benchmarks (including the FAIR Institute and the IBM Cost of a Data Breach Report 2024) and the values you enter. Results are illustrative only and are not a quote, assessment or guarantee of outcome. A formal ROM Diagnostic is required for figures calibrated to your environment.
4. Services
ideaBOX advisory services, including ROM Diagnostics, are provided only under a separate written agreement. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement controls.
5. Intellectual property
The Site and its content — including the ideaBOX name and logo, the Return on Mitigation (ROM) framework materials, text, graphics and code — are owned by ideaBOX or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and share Site content for your internal, non-commercial use with attribution. Any other use requires our prior written permission. Third-party names and marks (such as Actifile) belong to their owners.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access, probing or testing its vulnerabilities without our written permission, interfering with its operation, scraping it in a way that burdens our systems, or using it for any unlawful purpose. Security researchers can report issues to info@ideabox.com (see our security.txt).
7. Third-party links and services
The Site links to third-party websites and uses third-party services (for example, scheduling). We are not responsible for their content or practices, and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ideaBOX disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ideaBOX will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when they last changed; continued use of the Site means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which ideaBOX LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
